In Da Pod - The Movie

On the day that I bought the iPod, contributor Andy (#297) came and videoed the event and very nicely edited it up quickly into a "Here's Geoff buying the iPod" sort of thing - but to be honest, whilst factually correct it wasn't the most stimulating piece of video you've ever seen

A couple of other people said pretty much the same as well, especially contributor Peter (#54), who thought that "He expected something much more Geoff like".

So when the iParty idea came about, I decided that I'd make a somewhat more exciting piece of video to tell the story of 50p collecting.

With the help of a borrowed video camera, some camera work from myself and other contributors, and a copy of Adobe Premiere, the result is iN Da Pod - The Movie

It's 5 minute long, pop-video style track, and it's quite big file-size wise.

I used to have a smaller 10Mb version on here, but it doesn't really do the video justice as the quality is a bit shoddy, so I've now just got the super-large 33Mb version for you to download.

You can either left click to stream direct in Windows Media Player, or Right-Click and 'Save As...' to download the file to your computer. It's in WMV format which is playable on Macs if you have Windows Media Player for the Mac.

I also got a mention on 'Winners and Losers' on BBC2 at the end of 2004.

Winners and Loses was a 'review of the year' style programme that was broadcast on New Years eve on BBC2 in 2004. It was a highlight of the Top 50 best & worst things of the year, and at number 8, was the Apple iPod.

As part of the piece about it, they included 20 seconds on me, talking about the 50 pence thing. Watch the video clip here.
