When: Saturday 13th November 2004,

Where: Jamies Bar, Charlotte Street, London. W1T 4QH.

Time: 6 - 11pm

It's taking place at Jamie's Bar on Saturday November 13th. Feel free to bring your other half / pet budgie etc.. of you're scared about being Billy no-mates.

Nearest tube: Goodge Street

Turn left down Tottenham Street, then it's the second on the right.

There's another party in the same venue taking place down in the basement. We've got the main ground floor and the first floor though!

Come along, bring yer iPod (if you have one) and have an iParty!

So it's a a party. Sorry, I mean - it's an iParty. Which means that you turn up, talk, drink and be merry! We've also got :-

Giant iPod, Video screen, display boards, the iColour game, a charity actually worth giving 50p to, the eyeClinic to polish up your iPod, and tunes from the five-hundred as chosen by contributors ...

Plus, there'll be the odd other person or two to meet other people that gave me 50p, and thus realise that you weren't alone in parting some of your hard earned cash to my worthy fund. I'll be bringing my iPod (natch), so you can get to see the proof that I really have put your tune that you chose onto it.

If you have an iPod yourself (or iPodmini) then bring it along!

Guinness World Records are turning up to ratify a brand new record that we're going to set on the night, that being "Most number of people in a room at the same time with an iPod".

Ok, so that's a lie, but it would be fun to have a large group photo of as many people as possible with their iPods, right?

You can't get in without knowing your number!

If you're a contributor, you should know your contributor number. You'll need this (and some ID to prove who you are!) to get in on the night, and then you'll be given a 50p shaped badge to wear with your contributor number on it.

You can then greet people all by saying "Hello contributor X, I'm contributor Y", and make a new friend before you know it.

It would appear that pets are not allowed into the venue! Tsk! So whilst I would absolutely love it if your pet cat, dog, hamster, etc.. that contributed could come along, they unfortunately can't! Perhaps you could just bring a recent photo of them instead?

If however you contributed 50p, and then also 50p on behalf of your husband / wife / grandmother, etc.. and they themselves did not get in contact with me personally, then the invitation obviously extends to them to - so please let them know, and then RSVP to me.

Tunes on the night will of course will of course be provided in the form of all the songs that contributors chose. Here's the plan:

I'll set up my PC playing the contributor playlist through iTunes on random mode play. This makes a note of each song that was played throughout theevening, and if your song comes up, we'll make a note of it, and put it into a 'hat'. We'll then pull one (or several) names/numbers out of a hat, and those lucky contributors get a prize.

Obviously, Dave Gorman is officially not-invited, being an non-contributor 'n' all that.

Except that I thought I could perhaps make a separate invitation for people that didn't contribute to come along and we could then charge them all 50p to get in ...

Oh, and we've invited 50 Cent to come and sing a live version of 'iN Da Pod' with me. We're still waiting to hear back from his management company on that one though.

On the night - if anyone wants to give me 50p who didn't previously contribute, then they can - and their 50p will go towards a charity called Matthew's Fund.

Matthew Garnett is a four year old who has recently been diagnosed with autism. It's a life-long condition that affects every aspect of his life. He has problems with communication, social interaction and imagination.

He has starting a course of intensive therapy that will life-changing for him and will teachhim the educational, life and social skills that most kids pick up by osmosis.

Matthew's parents are adamant that they will give him the best chance of a normal life and that Verbal Behaviour Therapy is the best way to achieve
this for him.

For more information about how autism affects Matthew and/or his Verbal Behaviour Therapy programme, please visit the website: www.matthewsfund.co.uk

Matthew's father - Rob Garnett is a fellow BBC person, which is how I know him!

Finally... contrary to rumours going round, drinks shan't cost just 50p on the night. I just said that to entice you into coming. There is a normal bar, selling normal London-priced drinks (you know, about £20 for half a lager), because i'm not made of money. Hell if I was, I wouldn't have got you all to fund buying me an iPod in the first place, would I ?!

If you haven't had your invite telling you where it is (as I don't want to be descended upon by god-knows-who-else that has read this webite), then eMail me and i'll tell you where it is and what time!

Thanks!
Geoff.
