I’m the best
It’s official – I’m the best. Number one. Top of the pile.
It must be true, because the Channel 4 programme ‘Best and Worst’ says so, as according to their TV programme that was on last night which highlighted the ten best places and the ten worst places to live in the UK, my hometown of Epsom came out top! Straight up.
I was rather surprised myself, considering that Guildford – Surrey’s most major town had already featured at number 9, but no .. there I am at the top, now hoping that this new accolade will send property prices soaring, and increase the value of my flat !
The complete Top 10 (for the best), were:
10. West Oxfordshire
9. Guildford
8. Mole Valley
7. South Cambridgeshire
6. East Hertfordshire
5. Stratford-on-Avon
4. Ashford, Kent
3. Harrogate
2. City of Westminster
1. Epsom and Ewell
I also have another mention of something that happened off the back of my tour to Newcastle last week, which I’d forgotten about until I discovered the copy of the photos on my USB memory stick yesterday.
The roadies/crew that were responsible for setting up the rig for us, were also the same team hired out to do some equipment setups for an event that took place a couple of days earlier in the same car park where the BBC News on Tour marquee was located.
What am I talking about?
I’m referring to Stripping off in the name of art, of course where just a few days before 1,700 people stripped down to their birthday suit and paraded around showing off their bits.
So we were all rather amused when one of the crew showed us his own personal collection of photos that he’d taken on the day, and he let me have a complete copy of them all. Out of all of them, this is my favourite .. people just casually lying naked on the carpark surface, with all their bits hanging out. Lovely.

After living in London for the first 33 years of my life and working for the
So for ten weeks in June, July and August 2009, I drove 20,000 miles around the the lower 48 contiguous states of the USA visiting towns and places that shared the same name as places on The London
That’s all very well, but what about the cricket?
You really want to know my cricket story?
I’m unable to tell my cricket story without mentioning my ex (just… because…), which will then lose me lots of brownie points with certain people.
Anywhere that ranks the unspeakable Ashford as great is clearly based on a very weird set of criteria.
I thought that in a recent survey, Chroleywood West was considered the best place to live in the UK.
Or is the criteria different for this?
What exactly were Kirsty and Phil basing this on anyway? The number of walls you can knock through in houses?
Mind you, she can knock my walls through any day …
See the BBC article for why Epsom came top and Hull bottom – serves the bastards right for their evil football chants.
And Neil – urgh fantasizing about Kirsty Allsop – stop it right now.
Neil’ll fantasize about anything. He’s too easy. I even caught him fantasizing about me one day. Hence the gay rumours.
Damn, I thought that had been hushed up …
Not that either of you do anything to dispel the rumours as this lovely picture shows.
This also explains why I noticed so many gay pubs in Epsom.
How old are you Kris?
How old do I look Geoff?
You look younger than Geoff
I’ll take one of the worst 10 cities from ya’ll and trade!
Interestingly, I’m about two start a two week experiment just to show how young and good looking i am.
Thank you Mikey!!
Is it just me, or is it a tad strange that none of the 1700 naked people are fat?
hey yall
