Bling Bling Merrily on High ’05

Sports Personality of the YearThe BBC Sports Personality Of The Year award is the weekend – Sunday to be precise, when I’m in at work – meaning that there’ll be lots of stalking opportunities of all the famous sportsmen and women in the building.

I’m kidding! (obviously), but it does make me laugh when I see that someone has gone to a lot of effort sticking up nice shiny A5 posters around the building advertising the fact that it’s on this Sunday

They’re everywhere – in the lifts, outside the lifts, all down the corridor as you come in, by the restaurant, by the comfy seating area, on the way out to the car park – signs bloody stuck up anywhere. It occured to me that I hadn’t seen one yet in the most useful and obvious place to catch someones attention – on the back of a toilet cubicle door, so a deft yank (and yes, I said “yank”) of one of the ones on the 7th floor lifts and a detour via the toilets and I had that one covered.

Anyway, it’s not too late to go and cast your vote via the website if you want, or just watch the programme on Sunday, BBC1 at 8pm.

Christmas is now definitely coming, as I counted twelve houses tonight on the drive into work that had the fronts of their houses decorated. I still feel decidely un-christmassy though, even though next week heralds the start of the ‘Christmas drinks’ season at work.

Chav CapI do intend to go out and about though the weekend after next, and do a review of all the local houses in my area so see who’s house is most hideously decorated. Yes, as per ‘Bling Bling‘ last year, I’ll whack up another page like this one with my favourite ten, and give them a suitable rating.

I’m looking for something else to use this year though rather than the burberry cap to rate them by – all suggestions welcome – oh, and spend a moment checking out too – it sort of has to be seen to be believed!

Rate them by inflatable pooh bears? Or James Blunts?

    *prepares self for abuse*

  2. Anthony says:

YES! Rate them by James Blunts!

  3. kate says:

James Blunt should be included in the Cockney Rhyming Slang dictionary.

  4. Anthony says:

So it should! How appropriate! It’s like an onomatopoeic Cockney rhyme!

  5. James Blunt is all that!!!! Multiple pics are fine by me. Bring ’em on.

Why does the BBC persist in using the word “Personality” when they mean person? Anyway, I voted for Richard Burns.

  7. kate says:

ace. the more orange the james blunt, the more chavtastic the crimbo abonmination…

  8. Anthony says:

Richard Burns does deserve a vote. An untimely death indeed.

James Blunts look excellent! He looks like such a tramp – like Bernard Black (Black Books)!

  9. Alan Perks says:

Shame we couldn’t combine the Richard Burns story with James Blunt, if you know what I mean. Well maybe not combine, just substitute Burns with Blunt. Oh, but then it wouldn’t be an untimely death, not in my book anyway!

  10. Anthony says:

Yeah, and then Richard Burns would still be alive, which would be far better!

    Never mind!
