That’s Super!

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

And is it just me that is alone in doing this? I don’t think it is.
You break something. Something tiny, something fiddly, something ornate. Something that is going to require a tiiiiny dab of super glue to repair it.
And you know you’ve got some somewhere because you remember buying some six months ago to [...]

Tea & Music

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

Yesterday, I realised two odd things happened to me:
• I made a cup of tea in the morning, which I only got about halfway through before getting distracted, going out, and not getting a chance to have any more tea until I got home again in the evening.
And all day - all day - everytime [...]

Borrowed from Bill (Part Three, last one)

Monday, May 28th, 2007

BB:
“It used to be if you wanted a cup of coffee, that’s what you asked for and that’s what you got. But now you have at least twenty choices - plain latte, caramel, breve, macchiato, mocha, expresso, americano and so on …. And so I had to stand in line while fifteen people in [...]

Borrowed from Bill (Part Two)

Where we live at 767 Rutledge Avenue [...]

Whilst searching for a US Dave Gorman equivalent style of humerous pointless quest story writing in Barnes & Nobles last week (Conclusion: There is no US equivalent of a Dave Gorman, something that I might have to correct myself one day), I did stumble upon the travel writing section, and in particular the Bill Bryson [...]

My Saturday

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Here’s what I did yesterday:
My radio alarm clock goes off at 9am … I like my weekend lie-ins, but I also like to get up at a reasonable time so that I don’t feel like I’ve just wasted them sleeping either.
Virgin Radio (natch), comes on by default - but it’s nice to flick on my [...]

Review of the year (+4 days)

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Hello. This should have been written/posted on Wednesday when on May 2nd, I’d been here a whole year - but I was ill - really quite ill - and I hate being so ill that it prevents one from blogging. Therefore, let’s pretend that this post was done four days ago when it [...]

365 days later

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Stomach pains, dizzyness, an intense headache, and having to dash to the toilet more frequently that I would like and passing anything far from solid - this is not how I imagined or planned spending a day celebrating my being one year in the USA. Grrrrr. ~Grumble~
