| www.geofftech.com A chap in Australia whom I was most annoyed with that he beat me to the '.com' registration of my nick name! Ok, I've chatted to this guy a few times now on eMail and he checks my pages to see how I'm getting on, and I check his. It's a same-name thing, honest, and we're happy to be "international rivals". :-) There's also a Geofftech here on the Storage Review.com website that isn't me, and I don't think is the chap in Australia (above) either. Geoffrey's On The Web Whilst on the 'Geoff' theme, I once stumbled across on the 'net a chap who'd collated a whole page of links to people's personal webpages... but only if they were called "Geoff" or "Geoffrey". Hence it's called Geoffrey's On The Web. And why do you call yourself 'Geofftech' anyway? I'd like to pretend that people ask me that all the time, but in reality they never do. Perhaps it's because you've read this bit here on the website and so now you don't need to ask. Most people have me down as being a bit of a freaky gadget boy and so presumed I just tagged the 'tech' bit onto the end of my name to denote some sort of technical ability about me or something.
Due to the way that their configured their systems, my personal webpages with them had the address of: www.geoff.ftech.net - and some smart guy at work picked up on this (Dave Olsen, where are you now?) and started to call me 'Geoffftech' in eMails to me as a joke, and from that the name 'geofftech' stuck. Since then whenever I've signed up for most things online (other service providers, hotmail account etc...) I've always used the name 'geofftech' as my name. |
