Common Q & A

I get quite a lot of email from people asking me about Fox's biscuits, and whilst I'm in no way trying to stop you from emailing me as it's always nice to hear from people, I thought it might be worth sticking up some of the most common things I get asked about Fox's and their biscuits!

Do you know where I can get <brand of biscuit> from, as I can't buy it in my local shops anymore! / Do you know what happened to ... ?

This is the most common question I get. People asking where they can get a certain type of biscuit.

It would be fair to say that since 1997 when my obsession on Fox's started, it's become harder and harder to get certain type of biscuits. Fox's have stopped making certain biscuits. Sunbreaks were in my opinion the best biscuits ever made - by anyone ever - and they stopped making them. You just can't get them anymore.

I suspect that Fox's aren't doing that well financially and they've cut back on certain ranges, as they certainly seem to be bringing out less new ranges on as frequent basis as they used to.

But .. my two big tips for finding those 'hard to find' biscuits are:

  • Avoid the big supermarket chains! Seriously. Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose etc. seem to stock the same poor range of biscuits no matter where you are, and you're better off going to smaller independent grocery stores, or even newsagents that also stock biscuits. - e.g. The only place I can find Classic Crunch at the moment is in a pokey newsagents around the corner from where I work. My local big Sainsburys does not stock them.
  • Shop nearer to Yorkshire! Seriously. I live in the south of England, in Surrey - bad for Fox's distribution. A couple of years ago, I took a day off of work and specifically drove 'up north' to see if the distribution policy was different in shops nearer to where they were manufactured. They were!

I found a marvellous shop in Wolverhampton that sold a staggering array of biscuits, quite a lot which I had never ever seen before. One day, I shall go back!

How can I get in touch with Fox's biscuits?

You can write to them. Their address is:

Fox's Biscuits
PO Box 10
Batley
West Yorkshire
WF17 5JG

Or call them on: Tel: 01924 444333
Or email them at: info@foxs-biscuits.co.uk

Why does their website say 'Under development' all the time?

Who knows? Bit crap, isn't it? It's been like that for over five years now, and I'm starting to suspect that they're never going to get round to actually updating it. Pity, as I'd gladly do the job for them, but they probably don't want to pay me to do it!

They also hold the domains www.foxsbiscuits.com and www.foxsbiscuits.co.uk, but www.foxs.co.uk belong to the sweetie people! (See below)

Update!
At last! It was noticed that come September 2004, the Fox's website finally came online properly. well done chaps, it only took you six years ...

Do Fox's biscuits know about you?

Yes they do ... I've been emailed by several of the people that work for Fox's and have chatted to some of them. Sometimes I get a bit of news from them, but not often.

Can you buy some biscuits for me and send them to me?

Yes! But only in return for my one-off flat fee payment of 50p. Actually, it's more of a contribution than a payment. Have a look and you'll see what I mean.

Are these the same people that make Fox's Glacier Mints?

Not at far as I'm aware! The people who make the glacier mints have a nice website at www.foxs.co.uk, and is not related to the biscuits manufacturer.
