The Real Underground is an animation about the London Underground Map that lets you watch the modern Underground map morph into a "Real" Underground map, and then view a street map overlaying the Real Underground map, compared to Harry Beck's original design from 1933.
The animals, created using the tube lines, stations and junctions of the London Underground map were first spotted by Paul Middlewick in 1988. The original animal, the elephant was discovered while Paul was staring at the tube map during his daily journey home from work.
